After Elita's death, Rumble gathered with Soundwave when Chromia attempted suicide by setting off a huge bomb that caught Rumble in the blast, presumably killing the rhino-bot. Rumble tackled Arcee Rising Storm #3 only to be punched in the jaw by Chromia. They were then ambushed by Rumble, Soundwave, and other Decepticons. Rising Storm #2 When Arcee, Chromia and Elita-One went to spy on the Decepticons, they found Shockwave's cage for his " pet". Rumble later spent some time at the Decepticon base in Namibia. Rumble was caught in an energy net and shot at by Initiative soldiers. After sending in first Dirt Boss, then Ratbat and Buzzsaw, Soundwave let Beastbox and Rumble attack. Nefarious #3 Soundwave tracked Ravage to eastern California where the Initiative base was located. Rumble battled Bumblebee, until the latter, seeing his team being overwhelmed, pulled out and allowed the Decepticons to retrieve Soundwave. Rumble joined Buzzsaw, Dirt Boss, Beastbox and Ratbat in freeing the captured Soundwave from a Bumblebee led Autobot convoy in New Mexico. The operation was not a success, and eventually, Soundwave was forced to pull out his forces, including Rumble. Convergence chapter 4Īfter humans who were unrelated to NEST intervened in a battle between Autobots and Decepticons, Rumble was among the minions Soundwave dispatched to attack this new human threat, leaving one alive for interrogation. Convergence chapter 1 After a return trip to the Nemesis on the Longshot, Rumble reported that an energy signature similar to the warping of the Ark had appeared on Mars. Soundwave ordered him to set the Nemesis down on a moon of a nearby gas giant, after which the ship was abandoned as the crew followed the Ark to Earth. He gave a damage report after the Ark warped straight into their ship, removing a huge chunk of the its bow in the process. Tarn and the Decepticon supersoldiers are modeled after the original Tarn, the fanatic Megatron loyalist and leader of the Decepticon Justice Division in the 2005-2018 comics from IDW Publishing.Under the command of Soundwave, Rumble was a crew member of the Nemesis on its mission to locate a Star Harvester.Tarn soon retrieved it, but Soundwave responded with a huge sound blast, killing Tarn while sacrificing himself. ![]() Soundwave arrived with Laserbeak and stole the Helm for himself. Hot Rod attempted to steal the Helm, but was beaten by Tarn. Having captured everyone, he gloated and again attempted to execute Prime. Tarn took the fight to Optimus himself while beaming in more forces. Tarn then ordered the Decepticons to attack, but they refused, sparking a battle between the combined Cybertronian factions and the invaders. ![]() Tarn intended to execute Optimus until Prime was saved by a group of Autobots. He sent wave upon wave of his soldiers to fight Prime until he was overwhelmed by superior numbers. Tarn brought Optimus Prime to an arena to fight his minions while rekindling the civil war between the factions. He then gave the other Decepticons an opportunity to join him. Upon reaching the Cortex Helm’s chamber, Tarn stole the helm and reprogrammed the Decepticon supersoldiers to obey him. Tarn accompanied a small group of Autobots and Decepticons to find Thunderhowl, who led them to Onyx Prime's invisible floating island. After attempts to stop the fighting between the supersoldiers proved fruitless, Tarn offered a solution in the form of the Cortex Helm. Despite the Autobots and Decepticons restraining his pursuers, Tarn shot them with his cannon, claiming they posed a threat to everyone. Tarn was attacked by two other clones and escaped to another universe that Megatron had previously attempted to conquer, with the other supersoldiers in pursuit. He had, at some point, killed his universe's Soundwave.įollowing Megatron's demise, the supersoldiers began fighting each other for leadership. One of these soldiers evolved beyond his programming and named himself Tarn. Much like the great leader he replaced, he fancies theatrics in front of a large audience to prove his capabilities and that of his army. ![]() Living up to the symbol he wears on his face, Tarn deceives those around to accomplish his one goal: to surpass Megatron by finishing what he started. With a mind of his own, his missing arm and battered state belies his sheer strength, though it pales in comparison to his deceptiveness. Part of the supposed perfect Decepticon race, Tarn was once simply a nameless drone, but no longer.
